Robyn (or 'Keegs' as we like to call her) has had a phenomenal 6 months at RFT. With so much happening in her personal life that would easily throw the average Joe off track, Robyn has used her emotional energy into becoming more focused and driven than ever!
She has strengthened her mind and says that she now has control. In regards to nutrition and exercise she says, "It's up to me. I can choose." She has focused more on portion control, smarter food choices and consuming protein throughout the day (especially after exercise). Her clothes fit better and she feels healthier in general with more energy and strength.
Robyn's routine DEXA scan has show that her bone density has improved 3 points. She has ⬇️lost 16 Cms in girth measurements in the last 9 weeks alone! At 57 years young Keegs just tried banded chin ups in her PT session and did very well. 👏💪 ⬇️9kgs pure fat down since June. ⬇️7.5% body fat loss in total since training with coach Dibs and joining in on stronghuman, yoga and boxing classes when she can.🥊🙇♀️ Well done Robyn! My name is Lynnette and I’ve been a sauna enthusiast since age 12.
Before yoga, surfing or any of the other (often weird) wellness roads I’ve traveled over the years ( #Kambo anyone?) I started with the sauna and it has been a mainstay in my self-care toolkit since. As the practice becomes more popular in the US, more research is being dedicated to scientifically proving what the ancients (and I) already knew - plus disproving one of the biggest benefits in the process. (I’m even shocked)
As with most habits in life, I blame my parents for this (incredible, yet often inaccessible) practice. Growing up, the sauna was a sanctuary from the stress of our family life and of course the cold winters of Chicago. Thanks to their their hands-off parenting style, they allowed my brother and I to roam free through the fancy gym, dodging the on-site day care in favor of tennis, rowing machines and ending in the sauna.
While “working-in sets” with people 3 times my age could be a bit strange in a gym intended for adults, sitting in a sauna was even stranger at times, with conversations spanning the more absurd when “grown folks” forgot a kid was in the room. Nevertheless that fly on the wall experience helped shape how I communicate and most importantly how comfortable I am with my body.

As of age 15 I've been trying to lose weight. Looking back I remember how people use to criticize me over my weight. However this didn't really encourage me to eat less and lose weight, on the contrary, I found comfort in unhealthy and fatty foods and hence I got even heavier than before. I didn't grasp how bad my situation was. One day I looked at myself in the mirror and finally decided that I have to do something in order to change my life.
I tried a few kinds of diets and exercises but always gave up after about only 1 or 2 months.
In the last year I finally managed to lose 25 kg of my weight! I have to assert that it wasn't easy but IT IS POSSIBLE!
I started to plan a weekly menu made up of more veggies and less carbs. Planning ahead of time was crucial to my success.
Another important note is regarding diversity: I always try to make different variations of the same food. I don't intend to get bored and get tempted to eat unhealthy carbs. Finally my stomach started shrinking and I got full from smaller dishes and portions of food.
In the first half of the past year I managed to eat right and go for long walks yet the results were poor so I replaced it with 4-6 days a week of intensive cardio workouts and this led to a fall of 1 kg of weight per week.
At first it was tough but eventually the pain of the beginning went away. I even started enjoying it but most importantly: I started seeing results.
As for myself I can tell you that I am happier person, I love myself more than ever and my leg pain (from standing up) has vanished.
It isn't the end of my journey, I have more weight to lose but I'm on the right path :) Patience pays off guys.
