HAPPY VETERANS DAY!!!! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and have a amazing day. My prayers go out to those who have lost there lives these past weeks, continue to protect yourselves.
Home sweet home 💖⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm back after a weekend in Mexico (and yes, I am safe from the fires)! I went to a quinceañera for one of my husband's cousins, met some new friends and family, reunited with other family and practiced my Spanish!
My phone broke, so I was without a phone for most of the weekend. I thought I was going to freak out, but it was refreshing not having it! Once in a while, it's good to disconnect from all the news and social media. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now that I'm back I am hearing of the horrible things happening because of the fires in California. It is apocalyptic. It's a shame that we struggle with deadly fires every year. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was reading that out of the 20 deadliest fires in CA, 5 of them happened in the last 13 months. 8 of them happened because of something a person did. And 9 of them are unknown or still under investigation. ALMOST HALF happened because of a PERSON. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the case of the large fires currently burning, I read that there could have been an electrical issue. Not sure yet, but my brain hurts when I think about it. What would I do if a fire tore through my area? How can we prevent these fires from happening?!
I hope the best for everyone involved, I pray that the animals make it out alive, that people evacuate quickly, that the firefighters stay safe while battling this for who knows how many hours a day, and that they find the 200+ missing people from Paradise, CA. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I hope that we can work together to prevent these fires from happening in the future. This is our home and we need to protect it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This was the milky-way from the hills above Malibu from last year. Sadly many of the homes are now gone. The stars will still be there and if you're lucky enough to have survived another day than all is not lost. Thank God for what you do have and pray for those that don't.
