Baby crocodilians are vulnerable as prey. That is why they often have elaborate striping acting as camouflage. The stripes will fade as they age and are able to fend for themselves. #crocodilians#crocodiliansofinstagram
What a perfect weekend! I seriously could not have asked for better weather. All the animals were able to enjoy their outdoor habitats while soaking up vitamin D3☀️
Here’s Soni our American Alligator enjoying the warm, afternoon sun in his pool. Out here on the river, we take full advantage of these warm days! Winter will be here before you know it.
Anyone else enjoying this warm weather??? Tag me in your weekend pics 👇
An estimated 35% of the world's reptiles are listed as threatened or endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. 6 species of crocodilians are listed as critically endangered. The gharial, which once inhabited most of the Indian subcontinent, is extinct in about 98% of its former range. The wild population, which currently stands at just 235 individuals or less, has declined drastically since the 1930s due to habitat loss, illegal hunting, and depletion of natural food sources.

She may be taking the modelling world by storm and be the cover of many a mag, but the 15 year-old model Erica is taking it all in her stride. What the Days of the Daintree supermodel teenager most looks forward to after a day’s catwalk shows is fishing, lounging in the pool and relaxing on her favourite bank soaking in the rays, she’s just a regular gal.
We tend to think that celebrities are blessed with natural beauty we mere mortals just don't have, but in many cases they simply are blessed with money and can pay for artificial beauty we can't afford. Take the luscious locks of your favorite stars, for instance: fake. And we're not just talking about actors who don a wig to disappear into a role, we mean A-listers rocking faux locks on the carpet and in their day-to-day lives. There are plenty of celebrities who wear wigs, and we've compiled some of the most surprising instances of wig-wearing. Dusty Rose in the dressing room just about to try on her brunette full head of hair.
The fresh rainwater that's channeled from the roof into Lucy's habitat, has created some nice muddy puddles for her to burrow into.
Critically endangered Chinese Alligators dig deep burrow systems to spend the winter months in. Lucy has already started to go off her food again this year in preparation.
This was a new girl on the show not sure who she is, but she was doing a really good bunny rabbit impersonation. People that stick up for crocs are often called bunny hugging greenies and I often wondered why and now I get it because crocs look like bunnies. And theres a song that goes with this...”little Peter Rabbit had a fly upon his eye, and he flipped and he flopped and it flew away”. The flies are really giving the crocs are hard time at the moment.
They are animals and make mistakes like we all do. The pressures of fame are immense and some celebrities like to show their emotion and let their true feelings out no matter what . I mean everyone has bad days right, whether it’s an explosive argument over something big, or just a small tiff because of a disagreement, it’s completely normal to have a war of words. But when you’re a celeb well the whole world finds out. What’s not completely normal is to have these fights in public because there’s always a camera close at hand to capture celebs and their less-than-glamorous moments.
Caught in the act The Days of the Daintree megastar Scuter 18 Years can be seen on the embarrassing video , yelling during the confrontation with the king of the river. “Scuter is seen yelling a lot during it, but nothing physical,” the source said.
An update on Bung eye, he received a nasty injury around 15th of August, yesterday he was up high and dry and you could see his injury. It still looks very nasty and he’s lost some weight. But he will be fine, he’s equipped with a super powerful immune systems and an incredible ability to heal and not get infections so rest up big fella .
Did you know that Scientists in Australia's are collecting blood from crocodiles in the hope of developing a powerful antibiotic for humans, after tests showed that the reptile's immune system kills the HIV virus. So theres just another reason to respect these amazing creatures.
Human-croc interactions don't always have a negative result. Negative interactions with crocs are more inclined to be carried by the media, whereas neutral or positive interactions (appreciation, cultural veneration, etc) are less likely.
The more we understand human-croc interactions, the better equipped we are to conserve them! #croctober#crocodilians#crocodiliansofinstagram

I tell ya love is in the air and our boy Scuter has that dreamy look about him sitting there smelling the flowers . Don’t want to send the rumour mills into overdrive but sure did see him hanging out in Lizzies creek and well ....just saying Lizzie looked kinda happy. Lets hope the King doesn’t find out ,don’t want this pretty face scared up.
Cuteness has not yet emerged as an independent scientific field – but it should and when it does well we know where to look . When you’re mums the A-Lister of the reality show Days fo the Daintree and your dads the King well your bound to be adorable. Found one of Lizzies bubs from this year now 7 months old and talk about loving the limelight. Awwwww.
She’s blonde, she’s beautiful, she’s badass , she’s back and she’s Beatrice. For the second day in a row she’s been on the show, she’s a lady that likes her privacy and isn’t always ready to pose , but oh boy when she does, this is how it goes.........you know that song it says “I’m so hot I make dragons want to retire ,” thats our Beatrice she’s on 🔥 FIRE. Call the firebrigade and ambulance too, because you can feel the heat when she’s smiling at you. Sorry she’s hasn’t posed for a shot so I’m using my absolute favourite pic of the beautiful Beatrice with the almond eyes.
By now I’m sure you’ve all been probably wondering...”What do prawns do for excitement?” Well wonder know more .....they do Extreme sports for prawns... CROCODILE JUMPING. ( Don’t try this at home, be croc wise in croc country).

A brief appearance by the KING, doing his thang. “The now you see me , now you don’t is the magic trick we have down pat, don’t every underestimate that. Because you can’t see me doesn’t mean I’m not there, so when in croc country always beware. Stay out of my lounge room stay out of my home and we 100% will leave you alone. “ Be croc wise in croc country.
Scarface has started his patrol, he’s chased Nate away a couple of times and Nate , Scuter seems to have his special relationship with the King and avoids conflict, Lizzies been back in her creek which is great hope she’s choosing a nesting site, Erica has been enjoying the beach but the flys are driving her nuts, great to see the return of Dusty Rose, Bung -eye has been keeping down stream, Mary, Forest, Beatrice and Megan have been staying out of the limelight, no sign of Chopper Reed or Bender keeping a low profile all is well with the A -Listers.
1 WEEK FROM TODAY I’m getting married!!! 😬😬😬
It’s so funny; I always imagined one of my animals being one of the ring bearers- Like this Leopard Tortoise! I actually had Soni my alligator in mind...but at nearly 11 ft, he’d take up too many seats on the plane 😂
On a serious note, some people have had alligators as their ring bearers! Swipe ➡️ to check out Bubba the famous Alligator at a wedding back in the day.

While it was abundantly clear that the issues surrounding crocodile management in Queensland are of significant public interest, the measures proposed by this Bill did not have the support of the majority of submitters nor those who attended public hearings. In particular, the potential for this Bill to allow untrained people to kill crocodiles and also legalise trophy hunting poses a real, serious and completely unacceptable risk to public safety. Furthermore, the ill-conceived restrictions on foreign investment contained in the Bill threaten the viability of the crocodile farming industry and jobs in regional Queensland. The Committee recommends the Safer Waterways Bill 2018 not be passed.
Celebrity mums want the best for their kids and while they seem to go a little overboard when they spend money on fashions for their children. I mean take this all leather ensemble this little one year old is wearing and its not imitation leather either its the real deal. $$$$$ mega bucks, However they are pretty practical when it comes time to purchase toys for their kids. And Lizzies bub just absolutely loves her yellow leaf. Traditional, practical and never out of style .
Springs here and Summers on its way , which means it's time to start enjoying less layers. . . and we mean a lot less. In celebration of the sunny season's true arrival (it's so hot right now and we don’t just mean the weather) . We bring you HOT GUYS Hanging out on the bank. Nate absolutely smokin hot as he smoulders for the paparazzi .
Erica checking out a crab pot. A public service announcement from that little mudskipper, please take your rubbish home with you when you’re on set of the Days of the Daintree this includes you’re crab pots if you’re finished with them, as they are dangerous to many of the stars on this show. This particular crab pot had no name , no float and had been sitting there for months, its not there anymore.

Check out the teeth on this one! This is a freshwater crocodile. Otherwise known as a “freshie.” Ever wonder why both alligators and crocodiles lay with their mouth open for long periods of time? This is a behavior called “gaping” and many believe they do this to release heat! The equivalent to a dog panting. 🐊🐶
