I was reminded today once again of the power of music. 💕😀. I was feeling a little “off” today. Not like myself. We all have those days. I get to my line dance class and once in a while a lady and her caretaker come to the class and watch. This lovely lady is suffering from Alzheimer’s and her caretaker finds the music so uplifting to her. I was so happy to see them today. It was extremely touching. ❤️. This lovely lady sat in her wheelchair grinning from ear to ear and tapping her foot. Here I was feeling sorry for myself when I have so many blessings in my life. That was a humble reminder. Music is truly therapeutic and it has helped me immensely. During the winter months we gotta take time to celebrate and practice gratitude! Celebrate & be grateful for the big things AND the little things! There's actually a lot we have to celebrate & be grateful for, and most times when we're experiencing depression/seasonal affective disorder it can be difficult to see all that's around us. However it's a choice we deliberately need to make. I'm not saying it's always easy, I am saying it's necessary though. Plus, the science shows how truly good being grateful & celebrating is for our mental state. ••
Today I'm grateful & celebrating the blue sky & warm weather. I'm celebrating & am grateful for my incredible, precious baby boy who turned 4 today. I'm grateful for & celebrating my amazing body that keeps going & getting stronger. I'm grateful & celebrating the delicious food I have access to & eat all the time. I'm celebrating & am grateful I have the opportunity to, and get to stay home with kids & homeschool them. I'm celebrating & am incredibly grateful for my Father, who keeps opening up my eyes to His Truth & goodness. And there's more.... we just gotta be willing to open our eyes & see all that's around us.
