Rarities from my singles collection
A Still Too Young To Remember
This is a 12" Test pressing but even so, it's worth almost nothing. There are loads of interesting picture discs and shapes from It Bites but no-one collects them so they command almost no money. Which is a good reason to snaffle them

It Bites - Once Around The World
Ah there you are! Ive never seen butter used for that before, but I suppose it's tastier than 3-in-1 oil
Welcome back to the Rock Candy Magazine groove machine of rock n roll.
I love It Bites and still try to convert people to their pleasures whenever possible. They did sell at the time, of course, but struggled to get into the top 30 with any albums and after having a #6 hit with their 2nd sinlge, All In Red, all subsequent releases tended to hang round the bottom half of the charts.
All of which is a travesty because they were a unique band who mixed pop sensibilities with prog rock. Francis Dunnery knew how to write a killer riff on numbers like Midnight and Kiss Like Judas.
They were the onlyt band who could stack harmonies into a chorus and then rip out of it with a high speed jazz-fusion solo.
They also liked a long song. On this it was the 9-minutes Old Man and the Angel - though it's edited for the vinyl and the 14-minute title track which is a tremendous excursion.
This was their 2nd album, came out in 1988, was produced by Steve Hillage and peaked at #43 because the 14 minutes prog epic was not massively in fashion at the itme, I guess.
Hae yerself a satisfying Saturday
This thing invaded our garden. Maybe it’s a triffid, it’s practically as big as the house! Doms waited to see what it would become, but yesterday it bit her, so it had to go.
So this morning first thing, she went out and beat it up. It was close, but in the end she kicked its butt. Then it bit her a zillion times again as she tried to persuade it into the wheeley bin. In the end she had to climb on the wall and kick it from above (like treading grapes, only some mean fierce mothers who go for your ankles). .
Anyway, she turned the battle with the #triffid into an exercise with Max (swipe). She put on his GPS but further trusted him, and told him he had to stay put and not cross the line that marks the end of the drive the whole time she was busy. He did good! She had to take him with her every time she went back inside for something, just to be sure, but he didn’t walk off, even when she was swearing at the thing. .
Well all this was far too much for me before my massage. I stayed in bed, and Parm kept me abreast of developments from his position atop the sofa. He does have a funny way of sitting!
Guess what, Doms is behind as usual. But you lot are all slackers too, as I’ve received a measly ONE film with a light, and that from a cat! So pull your finger out, and get filming. What’s up, triffid go your thumbs? Have a great weekend everyone. X
In the aquarium of the great Zoo,
the Caribbean swims.
This maritime and enigmatic animal has a white cristal top fin,
blue back, green tail,
compact coral abdomen,
grey cyclone fins.
In the aquarium this incription:
"Beware: It bites".
Today Nicolás Guillén didn't let me forget my first time living (in) the Caribbean.
