This. Man. Is. A. Legend.
The minute James Taylor starts singing....it brings tears to your eyes.
I am so, so blessed to have experienced so many amazing artists in one night last night...and for a good cause.
Last night, James, @JoeWalshOfficial, #DonHenley & @RingoStarrMusic played a concert to benefit Joe Walsh's charity #VetsAid , & raised $2.6m! Ringo closed the evening with a full cast rendition of “A little help from my friends."" (Photos: Jane Muckle)
"Whoa...I've seen fire and I've seen rain, I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end..I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend..but I always thought that I'd see you again.." 😥 ▪
Newest cover added to the repertoire:
“Millwork ain't easy, millwork ain't hard, millwork it ain't nothing but an awful boring job.
I'm waiting for a daydream to take me through the morning
and put me in my coffee break where I can have a sandwich and remember.
Then it's me and my machine for the rest of the morning,
for the rest of the afternoon and the rest of my life.”
-Millworker, James Taylor
And now here's Part 2 of the Top 10 Musicians Who Deserve Their Own Biopic:
5. SYD BARRETT
FOCUS: The rise of the Syd Barrett-led Pink Floyd of the late 1960s and Syd Barrett's slow descent into schizophrenic madness. Of course, the other members cannot be overlooked, so a good movie would also show how, despite their backbone's disability, they were able to remain stronger through The Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here.
PLAYERS: Cillian Murphy as Syd Barrett, Adam Driver as Roger Waters, Michael Sheen as Richard Wright, Ashton Kutcher as David Gilmour, Benjamin Walker as Nick Mason
TITLE: "Wish You Were Here"
4. JAMES TAYLOR
FOCUS: An emotionally-riveting rollercoaster of a drama that captures the series of tragedies and and life-changing events, from the death of his childhood friend to his struggle with drugs, that inspired the verses of James Taylor's career-defining masterpiece of a tune, Fire and Rain.
PLAYERS: Jim Sturgess as James Taylor
TITLE: "Fire and Rain"
FOCUS: The premise would be simple, but effective. The main highlight of the film would be Kurt Cobain's inner turmoil in the face of his meteoric mega-stardom, which culminated in his shocking suicide. As with the members of Pink Floyd, Grohl and Novoselic cannot be overlooked, so the movie could also tackle their reactions to Kurt's death and the sudden, unfortunate position they found themselves in.
PLAYERS: Joe Anderson as Kurt Cobain, Adam Driver as Dave Grohl, Matthew Lewis as Krist Novoselic
TITLE: "Come As You Are"
2. FLEETWOOD MAC
FOCUS: The recording of the band's most iconic and successful album to date. Rumors was produced as the Fleetwood Mac was breaking up, and its release is what kept them together. There's the potential for a heavy, layered drama that details the band members' struggles to overcome debauchery, drug abuse, and their qualms with each other to craft one of the best albums of the 20th century.
PLAYERS: Justin Timberlake as Lindsey Buckingham, Billie Lourd as Stevie Nicks, Adrien Brody as John McVie, Toni Collette as Christine McVie, Gerard Butler as Mick Fleetwood
CONTINUED IN THE COMMENTS.
I’m not perfect but... the perfectionist of my artistic self wanted to go back to the store and buy another canvas (since it was on sale anyway) to re-do this piece.
•It’s not evenly spaced.
•Some lines are thicker than others.
•It’s not PERFECT.
But that’s what I love about my art. It’s not perfect. And each piece is special and different and unique and there’s only ONE of these in the universe.
Saturday night. Fireworks filled the night sky defying the steady rain. . I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I’d see you again ... 🎶.🎶. JT
