Day 6 of my Katy Trail Ride. It was another cold night. It was 18° when I got up this morning. Like always its hard to get going, but I had prepared a little better and got a better start. Getting to Sadalia wasn't bad, the trail was still frozen, but after that, oh my I had my work cut out for me. I thought yesterday was physical, today was even harder. The trail was like muddy sand and it covered everything, even me. For today's drama, I managed to crash the bike for the first time. I got caught up in some mud and snow on a bridge and went down. Good thing is, me and the bike are both ok. On the cool side of things, I passed by an Airforce base that has the Stealth Bombers stationed at it and seen one fly by and a couple of A10 Warthogs. I finally made it to the highest point of the trail 955 feet of altitude.Tomorrow is a short day and will finish at the end of the Katy Trail in Clinton, MO. I think I'm going to get a room, get some rest, clean the mud off of everything find a carwash for the bike do some road riding on Saturday. Stay tuned for day 7 and have a good night!
