Lets start this most amazing of adventures - the north of Pakistan. Let‘s cross the Islamabad toll point and continue on a journey that changes all perceptions of this wonderful country.
Before leaving Switzerland, I did a lot of research on the north of Pakistan. I wanted a tailored tour which would allow me to relax and yet not to miss some amazing sights. I came across @baydaartravels and contacted them. Once I got the itinerary, I was pleased and opted to go with them. The response was quick, my questions were answered, but on the downside, the lack of certain logistical information and the frustration which came with the transfer of cash due to lack of communication did irritate slightly. If you are coming from an European “all organized” mindset, this might be slightly annoying, but one needs to take into mind, this isn’t Europe and things are done differently here. I would advice the group to add into their itinerary, the duration, the distance, so that the organized Swiss can breathe easy. It is hard just to go with the flow sometimes. Maybe it is also my nature, and I like being informed about everything step by step.
Though, the communication was always friendly and prompt. That was a big plus. So, definitely I went with the group, with an open mind, which means, if there are unforeseen plans, if the Pakistani fellow tour travellers sleep in and there is a delay of one hour to leave, if there is no hot water in certain places, lack of heating, wifi not ideal. Then just go with it. It will not be different elsewhere. Put your music on, smile and look at the views. That is only what I was here for - the breathtaking beauty of Pakistan
We were heading to Chilas, left around 3am and would reach there almost 15hours later, in between we made a stop first at Besham city for much needed spot of breakfast.

He had just realized there were two things that prevent us from achieving our dreams: believing them to be impossible or seeing those dreams made possible by some sudden turn of the wheel of fortune, when you least expected it. For at that moment, all our fears suddenly surface: the fear of setting off along a road heading who knows where, the fear of a life full of new challenges, the fear of losing forever everything that is familiar. He had become so well versed in good-byes, the spoken and unspoken, the planned and unplanned, the teary ones and happy ones. Don’t be angry he begs, he surrendered and gave up long ago on anyone reading him, his life, his fears, his accomplishments, his gifts, his tears, his happiness, his weirdness, his craziness, and all of his story. ("When dark creeps in and eats the light, Bury your fears on Sorry Night. For in the winter's blackest hours, Comes the feasting of the Vours, No one can see it, the life they stole, Your body's here but not your soul") One by one he slew his fears, and then planted a flower garden over their graves and screamed I’m not the chapter titles or the end paragraph, don’t you see, I’m all the words written between. .
