GENTLE, SHY, SAD ELDER BULL EMMY DREAMS OF A RETIREMENT HOME!
Ten years old. Ten years of giving her love & her heart to a family. Ten years of having a routine she could count on, no surprises, only good #dreams . And then it was gone. Emmy is said to be a STRAY, but where she was found, & her prior history is unknown. All we know is her face is #frosty , her heart is good & kind, & she is timid & shy at the shelter because the #shelter is a #scary place, with #dogs who are rude, & strangers who (though kind) are not friends from her former life.
Emmy dearly needs a #RETIREMENT home where she can rest her ARTHRITIC bones, sit like a princess on a cushy bed bought just for her, & enjoy the love of a family who want nothing but good things for her in her #goldenyears . Emmy loves treats, & the volunteers love Emmy. SHE NEEDS family of her own, a quiet, calm, safe haven in an experienced ADULT ONLY family (no kids under age 13) where she can flourish & find her smile again.

Happy retirement to hall of fame jockey @garystevens_official I had an MRI on Monday and the C-4 is up against the spinal cord,” Stevens said of his examination with Dr. James Tibone. “There won’t be any comeback from this one,” Stevens said, laughing. Stevens was injured in the post parade on Saturday at Del Mar and said: “My right arm went numb. It was almost like a whiplash effect.” Stevens rode one more race on Saturday, but took off his lone mount on Sunday. At the time he thought he merely had a pinched nerve in his neck, but the examination with Tibone showed otherwise. “I’m done doing what I did,” Stevens said. “I was getting close anyway. Now it will be time to pursue other things, but thank God I’m not in a wheelchair.
Stevens, 55, won 5,187 races, including three Kentucky Derbies - on Winning Colors (1988), Thunder Gulch (1995), and Silver Charm (1997) - and 11 Breeders’ Cup races. One of only 10 riders to win the Kentucky Derby at least three times, Stevens also won the Preakness and Belmont Stakes three times each. Stevens won the Santa Anita Derby a record nine times. He was the Eclipse Award-winning rider in 1998 and was voted into the Hall of Fame in 1997.
The Manager torch is being passed on and I don’t think I could confidently accept it, if it wasn’t for this woman right here. We’ve had laughs, cries, talks about life, exchange of frustrations, and more importantly talks about God.
Resilient, smart, compassionate,FUNNY, the best story teller, humble, music lover, traveler, movie lover, a huge heart, and the list can go on forever. I will never be able to thank her enough for everything she’s done for me in my personal and work life.
There are no tags in this post because she’s off the grid lol, but I still wanted to share because when you spend 40+ hours a week with your boss, especially my boss, it starts to feel more like family.
Cheers, to new beginnings and next adventures!

Yesterday was another successful day! Started out with an email from Southwest that I’ve earned a companion pass for the rest of 2018 and all of 2019!!! Guessing Tim will take that. 😆 Then a quick trip to AT&T to get our new phones set up with México phone numbers. (Keep an eye out for a WhatsApp text so we can keep in touch). Then we went to about 6 pharmacies looking for Tim’s BP med only to have very little luck there. 😞 But the night ended on high note with dinner with friends/neighbors at Manglar’s in Tulum and drinks on the roof! Yum yum!!! Thanks to everyone for including us and making us feel so welcomed!! #hastyfamily#fall2018#rodriguez#mexico#akumal#retirement#visitmexico
