Throwing it all the way back to 2007 when I bought a one way ticket to London, England with no real plans. I had just graduated from @hollandcollege after studying the world’s top travel destinations and was keen to experience a few first-hand ✈️After a year of backpacking around several countries, I found out I could finish my degree at a university in Austria in one year (as opposed to two years at the university of #PEI ). Sounded good to me! I traveled to #kremsanderdonau and applied right there. I spent that summer living in #Santorini and fell madly in love with the place! 💙 Then I found out I was accepted to the program in Austria so off I went ⛴🚝 Good thing I hadn’t really researched too much about the program before cause man, it was INTENSE! 11 courses + a thesis each semester 😅 I buckled down and got it done, while squeezing in the odd weekend trip to Italy, Hungary, Poland, etc... Such an amazing experience I’m so grateful for! This photo was taken in #CinqueTerre May of 2009. Pre-smart phone days. Pre-everything that’s happened to me in the last 10 years. Today I was back at #HollandCollege for an event and it brought back all the memories of finishing the program and taking off on that big adventure. Couldn’t have been better timing as I’m heading back to #europe soon for the first time since I lived there. Will I ever come back home? We shall see! 😜😎💃🏻(just kidding, I’ll be back in time for Christmas craft fair season) #travel#europe#italy#solotravel#womenwhotravel#backpacking#tbt#throwbackthursday#traintravel#nofilter#yolo
Cathedral Cove in coromandel peninsula New Zealand. One of the most stunning beaches I've had the pleasure of sunbathing on. It's super photogenic with perfect white sand, crystal clear water and a natural arch carved through the cliff face that allows entry to the beach at low tide. Kayak tours are very popular here and there is even a boat TAXI service that takes you to different parts of the coastline.
What's more interesting about this area is Hot water beach just a 9Km drive south of the cove. Now hot water beach isn't anything special to look at it's as average as any beach initially until you start digging a hole in the sand to find geothermal heated water pooling around you're feet.
WARNING as you can imagine it's packed with tourists day and night so if selfie stick wielding peace sign gesturing self absorbed I must take this photo 50 times from 50 angles kinda people irritate you then you might want to try going early morning to catch it at sunrise. Just saying 😀😀 #travel#solotravel#fitness#diet#get_out_and_live#NewZealand#fun#active#sanddunes#explore#visa#tourist#travelideas#backpacking#gapyear#coromandel#northIsland#Auckland#holiday#jogging#sun#workout#nature
