The first time I saw Gullfoss was in March of 2015. Didn’t get the chance to get close enough like the tiny little people in this picture because the entire place was covered in ice and snow. I’m not sure if there was a walkway back then but I couldn’t even see that because of the snow that covered it. Glad that wasn’t the case this time. I loved getting close enough to feel and get wet by its mist. The power and elegance of the waterfall was an amazing experience but I can’t help but feel the gloom. I think it was most likely the weather making me feel that way (it was cold and grey af). I’m just hoping I can go back during Iceland’s summer months with the Midnight Sun ☀️ Maybe I’ll feel a different kind of excitement then.
