An #Australia -wide hunt for the sub-human who used his vehicle to deliberately run over and kill an estimated 10 #emus yesterday on a dirt road, has ended with the arrest of 20-year-old Jacob MacDonald from #Pinnaroo , a small town near #Victoria .
According to numerous outlets including the Daily Mail, an ex-girlfriend identified MacDonald as the person in the video that was released on social media. The appalling video showed MacDonald barreling his car across more than a dozen emus, counting proudly each time he hit one of the innocent animals.💔
As per the @rspcansw, MacDonald can face up to 5 years in prison and $22,000.00 in fines under the NSW Crimes Act. He will reportedly be charged for #animalcruelty , animal torment, destruction of protected #wildlife , and traffic offences.

Mountain Goats on Mt Evans
I love the vast landscapes of mountains in my home state of #Colorado . On places like Mount Evans, where you can drive to the top of this 14,271-foot mountain, you can frame wildlife in its landscape with a background of mountain peaks or rolling tundra. For this particular shot, I wanted to show the mountain goats in their tundra landscape. The road to the top is typically only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day but in 2015 it stayed open a few weeks longer because it was closed for the first few months of the summer season. (The road had to be repaired because a large section of it had fallen away during the winter). This rare opportunity meant I could photograph the goats set against the fall colors. Take advantage of the rare opportunities when you get them. You never know when you might have it again. Or just get out and enjoy the beauty around you because you don’t know when it might change. This photo was captured at f8.0, 1/640 sec, ISO 640 on a Nikon D4s and Nikon 200-400mm lens at 200mm. And remember to always photograph wildlife safely and responsibly.
“The rainforests of Indonesia are awe-inspiring, home to some of the most biologically diverse forests in the world — 10% of the world’s known plants and 12% of all mammals. Forests are also our biggest defense against climate change by helping to regulate CO2 levels in the atmosphere. ⠀⠀
These forests are being destroyed to grow palm oil, an ingredient used by big brands to produce products including Dove soap and Colgate toothpaste.
Rainforest destruction for palm oil is a disaster for wildlife, people, and our climate. These precious forests are essential to the very survival of one of the last orangutan habitats in the world, and vital for solving climate change. We must do all we can to protect these forests.
As the planet heats up and we see more extreme weather events happening across the globe, we need to be doing all we can to save Indonesia’s rainforests.
In 2010, Greenpeace forced some of the world’s biggest consumer goods companies in the world to pledge to end their role in deforestation. They promised that by 2020 they would no longer be buying forest-destroying palm oil. ⠀⠀
But brands haven’t delivered. We must get brands to stick to their word and make sure that they don’t use palm oil that is fueling forest destruction. ⠀⠀
Please take the first step by adding your voice to our petition. Greenpeace never takes a dime from corporations or governments. Everything we do is thanks to the generous support of people like you!” - Greenpeace ⠀⠀
